Virat Kohli
sports News. Virat Kohli put up yet another stellar performance in an ICC knockout match as India defeated Australia to reach the Champions Trophy final for the fifth time. The modern-day great scored 84 against Australia, ensuring that India faced no trouble chasing a tough target of 265 runs. On winning the Player of the Match award for his performance, Virat Kohli revealed his success mantra over the years, saying that 'prioritising the team over individual achievements' leads one to victory and greatness.
Virat Kohli said that I never pay attention to those things. When you don't think about those milestones, they are on the way to victory. For me, it is about being proud and working for the team and if I reach the three-digit figure then it is great. If not, on such nights, you win, it is a happy dressing room and you feel grateful for whatever happened on the field. Then you put your head down, work hard and do it all again. The final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played between India and New Zealand on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This will not be the first time that India and New Zealand will face each other in the final of an ICC mega event, their last clash in such an event was the World Test Championship Final 2021, which the Kiwis won.
New Zealand has been a source of trouble for the Indian team in major ICC events over the past few years. The defeats in the T20 World Cup (2016, 2021) and the ODI World Cup (2019) are some of the examples that show that the Blackcaps have consistently troubled the 'Men in Blue'. So, despite Rohit Sharma's team facing defeat in the group stage this year, no one can call the final one-sided in India's favour.
